First and foremost, we are most interested in looking after every single one of our guests as best we can, but the following is the boring but necessary ‘small print’ as a condition of booking or staying with us:
Payment
Full payment for your stay is taken at the time of booking. If you cancel more than 7 days before your scheduled arrival date, we will issue a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival are non-refundable unless we are able to resell the room. By making a booking you authorise us to charge the payment card used for the full value of your reservation at the time of booking.
Cancellations and alterations
If you sadly have to cancel more than 7 days before arrival, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 7 days of arrival, the booking is non-refundable unless we are able to resell the room. If you wish to change something about your booking please email or call us and we will try our best to help. We will of course always try to resell any cancelled room at which point we will refund you in full.
No-shows
If you have booked but do not arrive and stay with us without having previously cancelled, you will be charged in full as if you had stayed.
Checking in and out
Our rooms are available to check in from 3.00pm and check out is 11am. Should you wish to check out later please ask us and although we cannot guarantee this, we will always try our best to accommodate your request.
After hours
There is no-one on site between 12am and 7am. You will be given an emergency telephone number of a Manager should you require any assistance in the night, whilst alarms and CCTV protecting you, are automated.
Allergies and intolerances
Should you have any food allergies or intolerances please make your waiter aware. Our kitchen can accommodate most requests and we will always do our best to ensure you have something delicious to eat. If you have a feather allergy please let us know on booking your room (or at least a day before your stay), so that we can swap our normal goose down bedding for hypoallergenic bedding.
Vouchers
Our gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from their date of issue and are non-refundable and we ask that gift vouchers are used in whole, not in part.
Credit card charges
You authorise us to charge your credit card for any charges incurred. This includes any damage or removal of property from the rooms, including Bramley Products.
Payments
We accept most cards apart from American Express and no longer accept cheques (including traveller’s cheques)
Parking
There are three car parking areas for guests, which are illustrated to you with a map as part of the booking process. Please be aware you are solely responsible for your car and its contents in the car parks. Please also park with respect to other guests and our neighbours in the village. Though it is technically possible, any parking on the road is strongly discouraged as it will understandably upset village residents and tractors & trailors will have difficulty passing due the the narrow stream which may easily lead to damage of your car.
Data and Wifi
There is free wifi throughout the hotel, please use data responsibly so that all guests can benefit from this. We keep your data securely but are not responsible for your use of the internet, again please use responsibly! There is always a member of staff who can help you with IT issues but in this event, we are not responsible for any consequential damage to your equipment.
Smoking
Smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere inside the buildings. Ashtrays are provided throughout the outside areas. There is a cleaning charge for any guests found to be smoking in their rooms which will be taken from the credit/debit card details given at booking. Cigars cannot be smoked in the hotel or Tack Room.
Disabled access
Our public areas are all on one level. However, because the hotel is a listed building it has been difficult to do this perfectly. There is a disabled toilet in the courtyard and we have a ramp to access some areas. We have two ground floor bedrooms easily accessible (in the old Coach house) but all others are on upper levels (with no lift).
Keys
Keys are to be returned upon check out. Should you mistakenly take a key home, please let us know as soon as possible and we would appreciate it if you could send it back to us as soon as possible. Should a key be taken home and not returned within a week we shall replace this key and we will sadly have to charge.
Room security
All bedrooms have locks. You are responsible for your possessions during your stay. Many household policies will cover your possessions in the event of an incident, or theft (which we have crossing fingers, never had to date)
Bramley products
Our gorgeous, natural Bramley Products are available in your room (in generous full size bottles) which is rather nicer and more environmentally friendly, than disposable small bottles. These are available for your use during your stay, but please do not remove from your room or we may charge you for them.
Dogs
We do allow dogs in some rooms, please call to enquire before booking. Whilst we love dogs, some guests sadly do not and may be allergic to them, so cleaning is slightly different after a dog has stayed. You are of course responsible if you choose to leave dogs in cars.
Unruly guests
Thankfully everyone who stays at Teffont House is lovely! But we do ask that you respect your fellow guests and our staff. We have never had cause to do this yet, but in extreme circumstances we do have the right to remove unruly guests, with no refund. Obviously, any sexual harassment of any staff of any nature will not be tolerated.
Noise
Please be aware we are a small hotel in a very old building, and planning requirements prohibit what we can and can’t do. There may therefore be some noise that travels up to the bedrooms. We have done our best to try and make sure these creaks and groans are kept to a minimum and within our control (particularly early morning and late at night)
These terms and conditions are governed by UK law.
