Salisbury

Or, if you fancy staying close by, our surroundings reward the idle, artistic or the energetic. There is no pressure to do anything, but please ask if you need inspiration - we have friends nearby who offer fly fishing, overlanding, e-bikes and more.

The Nadder valley

The Nadder valley is full of fabulous walking routes; from a short stroll around the historic village to a five mile hike across the downs to The Beckford Arms, our very first pub.

Let us know if you are walking to The Beckford Arms, we can provide you with a packed lunch for your walk. After you have rehydrated yourself with a few pints by the fire, if you let us know ahead of time, we will do our best to collect you.

Wellness

Our cosy Bramley treatment cabin overlooks the ancient woodland. Switch off with a body massage, facial, or something to calm the mind, with treatments using products from the new Bramley Skin collection. It would be great if you could take a quick look at our treatment menu and if something takes your fancy, give us a call to book in.

Next to the treatment cabin is our hand built wood fired sauna and cold plunge. You are welcome to enjoy this during your stay, so pack your swimmers.Sessions in the sauna last for 45 minutes and begin on the hour from 10am. Please ask at reception, 45 minutes ahead of time, to allow us to stoke the fires.

Our Gardens

At the rear of the house is an acre of gardens and a terrace with tables and chairs. The gardens feature two summer houses: the Artist Hut, stocked with easels, watercolours, pens and paper, and the Lookout Hut, with three telescopes, deck chairs and star charts. After dark, with a mug of Horlicks or a nightcap, head up to admire the stars beneath the European Dark Sky Reserve. Across the stream you'll find a Victorian walled garden and The Chicken Shed, a covered area with croquet and badminton courts. Ask at reception for racquets and mallets if you'd like to play.

Movement

There are many great walks in the Nadder Valley, from romantic walks around the lakes to hikes for those slightly more advanced. Or perhaps try a private yoga class in our garden with Mia, who takes a holistic approach to yoga and wellbeing and is able to tailor classes to any ability.
